Case Study – Nordhavn – Sustainable city of the future

National spatial planning strategies (Denmark)

Local planning strategies (Nordhavn)

Project`s research questions:

What is the sustainability of the 15-minute city concept in urban planning and development?

Sub question 1 .How does the 15-minute city concept impact planning strategies for green infrastructure amid urban densification?

Sub question 2 How can urban linkage improve densification for more sustainability in Nordhavn district?

Sub question 3 How can the 15-minute city promote walkability from the residential homes to servicies?

Chapter 4 must include answer for sub question 1!

Use the Kommuneplan , is written also about Nordhavn. You resources as many you think is important ! everything has to be about planning strategies

Examine whether densification implies a higher level of environmental pressure on the local environment.

Planning for green qualities in the urban densification Case Study – Nordhavn – Sustainable city of the future National spatial planning strategies Local planning strategies

This research explores the implications of urban densification on a place-based study in Nordhavn District in Copenhagen, Denmark. The primary research question underpinning the study is whether the 15-minutes city concept is a critical tool for sustainable urban development, sustainable planning strategies, and the planning for green qualities in urban densification.

Research Objectives

• To evaluate whether densification support mixed-use and the use of local services
• To examine whether densification implies a higher level of environmental pressure on the local environment.
• To evaluate whether there is a conflict between densification and securing green areas -To examine whether densification leads to a lower transport level.

What academic, employment experiences (professional work experience and/or internships) or activities (research, co-curricular activities, leadership roles, etc.) bear on your qualifications for this planning program?

Statement of Purpose

Style needs to be 3 pages, and double spaced

This paper is a statement of purpose for admissions into the University of California, Berkeley.

This is the prompt I followed:

Discuss (with clarity and focus) why you want to study urban planning, why you want to study at UC Berkeley, and how our program can help you achieve your academic and professional goals.

We encourage you to consider your responses to the questions below.

i.The Present: What brought you to pursue graduate study in planning?

ii.The Past: What academic, employment experiences (professional work experience and/or internships) or activities (research, co-curricular activities, leadership roles, etc.) bear on your qualifications for this planning program? How do these experiences relate to your decision to study planning?

iii.The Future: What are your long-term career goals? In following the completion of your graduate degree in planning, what kinds of work and professional activities would you like to engage?

Demonstrate an ability to track changes associated with a project or package of work.

Construction Project Based Learning

A structured report 1500 words (+/- 10%) to explain the steps you have taken to track a project or a sub contract package, depending on the value of the overall project.

Evidence from the project will be required to support your analysis (Clearly anything commercially sensitive to the contractor cannot be made available).

• Demonstrate a baseline of information against which the project / package can be measured; this could be cost, program, quality or productivity related

• Demonstrate an ability to track changes associated with a project or package of work.

• Explain how over time the project has changed, this could include, but not limited to a review of program, commercial and/or team management.

• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the project and subject areas you have selected to review

• Demonstrates the student has undertaken the activity over a period of time

• Create a well-structured report using good written English.

• Referencing as appropriate is included using the Harvard style

There are 3 videos to view. Here are the links. They are recorded 1 month apart and this is what is used to track these packages for this report

Determine the effective BIM tools (software) of various sustainable construction applications such as energy modeling and life cycle assessment.

Building information modelling (BIM) for sustainable building design: Case study of UAE

The expected outcomes will proofed that success factors are related mainly to the client accepting of BIM adaptat in construction projects, a good organizational structure to support a BIM system within the company and financial help from the government to set up the BIM system.

This research will:

Develop a clear understanding of BIM implantation in the sustainable construction industry in the UAE.
Investigating the critical success factors of implementing BIM in the construction industry (Globally – UAE).
Determine the effective BIM tools (software) of various sustainable construction applications such as energy modeling and life cycle assessment.
Explore the benefits of successful BIM implementation in sustainable construction projects.

Demonstrate independence of thought and personal responsibility in the exercise of learning and management skills.

Assessment criteria

In broad terms, the criteria will be based on the extent to which a student demonstrates that the learning outcomes of the module (as identified above) have been achieved.

Define and break down and problems, identify the relationship between elements and effectively communicate the outcome. (Analysis)

Combine information and ideas from a variety of traditional and contemporary sources to develop novel solutions. (Synthesis)

Identify and define problems and apply appropriate knowledge and skills to their solution. Evaluate the problem-solving process. (Evaluation)

With limited autonomy develop techniques to successfully produce solutions to technical problems. (Technical expertise)

Understand evidence from both academic research and professional practice to demonstrate reasoning in the construction of arguments. (Evaluation)

Demonstrate independence of thought and personal responsibility in the exercise of learning and management skills. (Autonomy)
