This assignment is your opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the material we have covered during the course. For this project students will come up with a fictitious incident response plan and develop a PowerPoint presentation containing a minimum of 10 slides. MINIMAL OF 10, that is not A work.

Develop a response plan for a mock incident involving a facility or location in your community. Slide 2 – Overview of the Incident
Slides 3 – 9 – Comprehensive Response Plan
Last slide – References
Decide who will be the Incident Commander (IC). Or you could choose a Unified Command (UC). Develop the five ICS functional areas and specific responsibilities for each area pertaining to your incident. A completely developed and detailed Incident Action Plan (IAP) should be included as part of your presentation. Compare and contrast one of these worldviews with Christian theism, using the “Ten Ways of Looking at the World” you’ve read about in Myers and Noebel’s  in the Understanding the Times text.

Focusing on the concept of worldview and analyzed Christian theism, secular materialism, Marxism, Postmodernism, and pantheism/New Spiritualism as live worldview options in today’s world.

In this final paper, you will compare and contrast one of these worldviews with Christian theism, using the “Ten Ways of Looking at the World” you’ve read about in Myers and Noebel’s  in the Understanding the Times text. This comparison will allow you to present your understanding of the two worldviews, as well as examine the beliefs of the non-Christian worldview in light of a biblical perspective. In each of the “Ten Ways to Look at the World,” note where your personal worldview is similar or dissimilar from the two that you are comparing.

How do you think the film would be different if a Christian, a Marxist, or a pantheist were included in the dialogue?

Godawa’s short film “Cruel Logic,” is a brilliant example of a narrative that portrays worldview engagement. In the film, a postmodernist professor has a dialogue with a secular materialist in order to highlight the failure of both worldviews.

A big goal of this class is not only to show you the right ways to think  but to illuminate the dangers of thinking wrongly and recklessly . We are willing to present uncomfortable and even difficult demonstrations of “the wrong” as long as we do not compromise biblical truth; this video does not constitute such a compromise. You’re an adult, you can handle this, and God will be glorified through your consequent and strengthened desire to think in godly ways.

In light of this film, please answer the questions after you have watched the video:

What is missing from both of the worldviews presented in “Cruel Logic”?

How do you think the film would be different if a Christian, a Marxist, or a pantheist were included in the dialogue?

Within your answer in the initial post, include at least one direct quotation from the video. To demonstrate the skill of collegiate-level writing, quotations should be woven into your answer’s naturally .

How and why have women and children been the victims of violence in these conflicts?

Global impact of conflicts

Semester Project Part II – The Global Impact of Conflict 50 points
The effect of ethnocentric conflict around the world extends beyond those actually involved in the violence. These conflicts impact the surrounding regions as well as a countless number of innocent women and children. In this assignment you will research ethnocentric conflict and its global impact, particularly on women and children and neighboring countries or regions. You will
then create a report with your findings and analysis in the format of your choosing . Support your special report on the global impact of ethnocentric conflict with cited evidence from your research, along with images, graphs, statistics, etc.
Consider the following in your research and report:
• What is the impact of these conflicts beyond the numbers of deaths?
• Who else is affected besides those directly involved in the fighting?
• How and why have women and children been the victims of violence in these conflicts?
• What relief is provided to those devastated by these conflicts and is it enough?
• What long term implications have these conflicts had

Do you think this approach to the world is positive? A negative? Or a mixture? Explain and defend your answer.

From our textbook reading this week in Hollywood Worldviews, Godawa indicates that movements such as romanticism and existentialism place an emphasis upon following one’s emotions  and personal experience , respectively, rather than one’s reason. Given that contrast, answer the following questions in your initial post:

Why do you think this type of story/approach to the world is appealing to audiences today?

Do you think this approach to the world is positive? A negative? Or a mixture? Explain and defend your answer.

Within your answer in the initial post, include at least two direct quotations from this session’s assigned reading from Godawa. To demonstrate the skill of collegiate-level writing, quotations should be woven into your answer’s naturally also include Biblical scriptures to support your paper.
