How does implementing a patient-centered care bundle compared to standard care affect the incidence of pressure injuries.
The PICO question that would guide in the improvement of the patients’ outcome is: In immobile hospitalized patients, how does implementing a patient-centered care bundle compared to standard care affect the incidence of pressure injuries. The question was developed through determining the population of interest which is the immobile hospitalized patient, the intervention to be considered (care bundle), the comparison (standard care), and outcome/what is to be achieved (low incident rates). The question is applicable to evidence-based practice (EBP) as it will help in the search of evidence or concepts that would help in answering it and implementation of the appropriate interventions. EBP is an approach that promotes the application of research findings in nursing care practice. The question will help in the searching of the evidence as key search terms will be used. Besides, the evidence will facilitate the implementation of sustainable interventions (care bundles) to help solve the problem.
